Maya Springboard, final assignment
I've been bad about posting my assignments on here, but here's one project I'm actually happy with. The more elaborate animations will come later when Class 1 starts in late March, but in the meantime, enjoy!

My First Assignment!
So here's my first assignment from Animation Mentor. I'm currently in the Maya Springboard program, which is a basic introduction to the functions of Maya. For this assignment we had to create NURBS shapes and place them on a prop shelf. It was a pretty simple assignment, just to get us used to working with Maya and creating shapes. There will be some animation stuff in this class eventually, but so far this is what we start with. Enjoy!

First Attempts
Just to get the ball rolling on my blog, these are just a few videos of my early attempts at Maya. I did these animations while taking a Community college course. They aren't related to Animation Mentor.
Animation Mentor!
Hey everyone! I'm starting again on the blogosphere, this time as a place to post my work from Animation Mentor. It's an online school for character animation using the Autodesk Maya software. This is an exciting place to be, and I'm looking forward to posting my many assignments online, and documenting my journey through the program.
Right now I'm about to start a course called Maya Springboard. It's a course workshop to help students get acquainted with Maya and offers some tips and tricks for getting around the program. I already started taking Maya at a community college where I got my first experience animating with the program, but I feel the workshop might help give me more of an understanding of how to navigate the software. We will be doing some simple animation exercises to help get me started. By the time the workshop is over, I will be starting Class 1 in March, and that's when the real fun begins. I feel very grateful to be a part of this program. So far I have met and talked to a few students from around the globe, including Italy and the United Kingdom. It's going to be an interesting experience being connected to all these people as our journey goes on. Hopefully we will get to meet and work together in the future. In the meantime, I hope anyone out there will follow up on my adventure! Happy animating!
